Robert Kwasigroch extends contract

Some good news this festive season: just before Christmas, goalkeeper Robert Kwasigroch has extended his contract with Hertha until 2027. “Robert is a home-grown player who’s developed really well in the past few months. He’s shown his talent not only in U23s games or when training with the first team, but also in the 2. Bundesliga, where he’s already proved that we can rely on him. That’s why we’re happy that we’ve been able to tie him down long-term,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber. The 19-year-old is similarly pleased. “I’m very happy about the trust the club have put in me and the appreciation I’ve felt. Hertha BSC are my team and I’m proud to wear the badge. I’m still a young keeper and I want to improve step by step and keep going after the winter break.”

The Berlin native joined the ‘Old Lady’ as a 13-year-old and came through the youth teams in our academy. He picked up experience in our Regionalliga side during his first season with our U19s, with whom he was German runner-up in 2022 and won the North/Northeast title in 2023. In total, the 1.92-metre-tall netminder, who signed his first professional contract in 2022, has played 24 competitive games for our U23s. In September, Kwasigroch made his 2. Bundesliga debut and kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Eintracht Braunschweig.
