"We know how much it means"

Gut instincts, rivalries, expectations – no other game is built up more in the media than a city derby. It’s no different ahead of the fourth Bundesliga meeting between Herths BSC and fellow Berlin side !. FC Union. “The high amount of talk around the game is always nice and we can say that everything’s going well, but the truth will come out on the pitch this weekend,” said Arne Friedrich at the press conference on Friday ahead of the derby on Easter Sunday (04/04/21, 18:00 CEST). “All that matters at the weekend is getting the three points. We know that it will be tough for us to finish ahead of 1. FC Union come the end of the season. This season we’ve fallen short of our expectations, but we are aware of the meaning of this game for our fans. We want and have to win this game – that’s how we’ll go into it!”

With how the team have been working over the past two weeks, I have a good feeling for the game. I'm very pleased and happy. So far, everything's been perfect for the weekend.

Head coach Pál Dárdai is feeling good ahead of the city derby.

Pal Dárdai and the team have been working hard in the build up to the game in order to live up to the aims of our sporting director. “With how the team have been working over the past two weeks, I have a good feeling for the game. I'm very pleased and happy. So far, everything's been perfect for the weekend,” said the head coach. “It’s always nice to take the lead, but what’s important for me is that come full time we’ve scored more goals – that’s the only thing that matters,” said Dárdai, to round off the press conference. All that remains now is to take three points on Sunday.
