
Schedule for opening six matchdays confirmed
The first training camp is almost complete, the start of the new campaign is edging ever closer and the anticipation for the 59th Bundesliga season is growing! The DFL have now revealed the schedule for the first six matchdays of 2021/22 too. Pál Dárdai’s side will kick off their campaign away at Köln on Sunday, 15th August (17:30 CEST), with the first home game against VfL Wolfsburg the following Saturday on 21st August (15:30 CEST).
Saturday night in Munich
The Blue-Whites have a tough challenge on matchday 3, specifically on Saturday, 28th August, when they travel to Munich to face champions FC Bayern at 18:30 CEST in the primetime slot. After the first international break at the season, September begins with a newly-promoted double header, starting with a trip to VfL Bochum on Sunday, 12th September (17:30 CEST), followed by a home clash against Greuther Fürth on Friday, 17th September (20:30 CEST). Matchday 6 is an away meeting with last season’s Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal runners-up RB Leipzig, scheduled for Saturday, 25th September (15:30 CEST).
