EDEKA named as new sponsor of the eSports academy

EDEKA Minden-Hannover is now the new official sponsor of Hertha BSC’s eSports academy. The EDEKA regional company, who operate in Berlin, have had two successful years as sleeve sponsor (in 2019/20 and 2020/21) and have now extended their involvement with the eSports team.

In addition to a presence on the shirt and a variety of further advertising rights, there is a focus on the activation of the young eSports target group, in a digital and physical sense.

“At EDEKA Minden-Hannover, we are not just responsible for providing groceries, but also for providing to society, so we have decided to get involved in sport. Because good food and sport simply go hand in hand. An eSports player must have good mental health. With EDEKA by their side the players can take advantage of valuable tips on healthy eating,” stressed EDEKA chief executive Hans-Ulrich Sclender. “Our involvement in eSports with Hertha BSC aims to win over young people and draw their attention to possible career paths. We love talent! With more than 3,000 trainee employees from 100 countries in the retail, wholesale, logistics and production sectors, we are one of the biggest training firms in Germany.”
