Marcel Lotka joins Borussia Dortmund

Marcel Lotka’s move to Borussia Dortmund has finally been confirmed, as both clubs reached an agreement. “We have come to an agreement with BVB over Marcel’s transfer and found a good solution for all involved. Marcel helped us massively with the performances he put in towards the end of the season – we wish him all the best for the future,” said sporting director Fredi Bobic on Monday.

Ten first-team appearances – debut for Poland U21s

The 21-year-old goalkeeper moved to the capital from Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s youth setup in September 2020, making his first-team debut in February 2022 against SC Freiburg. In total, the Duisburg-born shot-stopper made 10 first-team appearances for Hertha’s first team, keeping two clean sheets in the process. Lotka also made 11 appearances in the Regionalliga Nordost for the U23s. Whilst at the Blue-Whites, the goalkeeper also made his debut for Poland’s U21 squad, making two appearances between the sticks for them.

We would like to thank Marcel for his time at Hertha BSC, and wish him all the best for the future!
