Goal of the Season 2021/22: Marvin Plattenhardt!

Despite a tough season, there have been some beautiful moments, joyful celebrations and, above all, some exceptional goals in 2021/22. Presented by betway, a vote for our Goal of the Season has been running on all German social media channels – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – to find our fans’ favourite strike of the season. The vote ran in a tournament format, with eight fine strikes being whittled down to just two in the final: Marvin Plattenhardt’s perfect free-kick in the second leg of the relegation play-off, and Suat Serdar’s sumptuous back-heel to secure the points on matchday 30 away to Augsburg. Two fine goals, but there can only be one winner, and the fans have made their decision clear: congratulations to Marvin Plattenhardt! His wonderful free-kick was not only a beautiful goal, and not only a match-winning strike – it was also the goal which secured Hertha BSC their Bundesliga status for the 2022/23 campaign! A worthy winner, for sure. Congratulations once again to our number 21, and many thanks to every Herthaner who voted!
