“Difficult to accept"
Despite a late equaliser from Freiburg to level the game at 2-2, the 40,481 fans in the Olympiastadion once again marked the effort from the boys with loud applause. Sandro Schwarz’s players, however, were not so pleased with a point when speaking shortly after the game. “We have put in a huge amount of effort in the last few weeks, so it is difficult to accept that once again we were unable to win,” said Marc Kempf after the game. herthabsc.com has the immediate reaction.
Oliver Christensen: There is a good atmosphere in the team and we know that we can pick up points against any team. Against Freiburg we were just missed that last little slice of luck to get a win. In the middle of the first half, we began to play really good football and the second half was probably the best that we have played the whole season. The second goal was obviously an error from me, but that happens. We now have to be patient and have to keep working hard.
Marc Kempf: We have not been rewarded. In the first half, we conceded almost the first chance that they had to score, but we got through this, and played really well in the second half. As a result, we deserved the goal to put us in the lead – even if we got it pretty cheaply. We have put in a huge amount of effort in the last few weeks, so it is difficult to accept that once again we were unable to win. The chances were there to win the game. Obviously, we are proud that we are unbeaten in five games but we are still a few points light. We have to work on being harder to play against and also have to be smarter in the way we manage time when we are in the lead.

Stevan Jovetić: SC Freiburg are a top, top team so we can be pleased. Nevertheless, it has been the cases throughout the season that we have not been able to decide games in our favour. It is not useful to just bury our heads in the sand. We have to keep looking forward and work hard. The team is making progress – we are playing well and I am sure that we will win games in the future and climb up the table. For me personally, it was nice to finally get back on the pitch.
Dodi Lukébakio: Olli [Oliver Christensen] has saved us so many times so we can't throw any blame his way. We were really close to getting a win once again, so it is a shame. Still, we will grow as a team from a game like this. We are ready to get three points and for the next game. A win will definitely give us a boost.
