Charity match against Berliner AK

With the first international break of the year coming up at the end of March, Hertha BSC will use the time to raise funds for a good cause. On Friday, 24th March 2023 (18:00 CEST), the Old Lady will play a charity match at the Poststadion against Regionalliga side Berliner AK. Both clubs will donate all the proceeds from the match to help the victims of the tragic earthquake in Turkey earlier this year.

Money raised will help build a container village

The majority of the funds raised will be put towards the construction of a container village in the Türkoğlu/Kahramanmaraş region, where the earthquake struck. Hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless as a result of the earthquake disaster in early February. Container villages are meant to serve as temporary housing for those in need, until their homes can be rebuilt. “Even now, more than four weeks after the tragedy, the region is still in ruins. Countless people are homeless and have lost everything. The biggest priority now is rebuilding. We were happy to accept this invitation from BAK and are looking forward to the friendly, a big crowd at the Poststadion and raising lots of money as a result,” said Hertha president Kay Bernstein. “We’re very pleased that Hertha BSC accepted our invitation and that we will be able to do something to help the victims of this terrible tragedy. Together with Hertha BSC, we want to do our part to meet our social responsibility,” said Ebubekir Han, president of Berliner AK.

Information on ticket sales and donations around the friendly will be released in due course on our club accounts.
