A loss at home to St. Pauli
Pál Dardai named an unchanged side from last weekend’s away win in Kiel. Pascal Klemens replaced the injured Linus Gechter on the bench.
FC St Pauli broke the deadlock after 25 tense minutes when Elias Saad squared the ball to Johannes Eggestein, whose initial effort was well saved by Tjark Ernst, but the ball fell directly back to the striker’s feet and he prod the ball over the line from close range. Shortly before the break, referee Deniz Aytekin awarded St. Pauli a penalty for a supposed foul on Eric Smith, but he reversed his decision after going to the monitor (37’).

Substitute Scherhant gets a goal back
With 74 minutes on the clock, Marcel Hartel hit the crossbar with a header and did it again just seconds later – this time the ball went in off the underside of the woodwork. Derry Scherhant got a goal back for Hertha, sticking the ball into the left corner of the goal (83’), but this turned out to be a mere consolation as the game ended in defeat at home.
