Friendlies against Mechelen & Rangers confirmed
Hertha BSC will not play any more football this calendar year, after ending 2023 with an unbeaten run and booking their place in the DFB-Pokal quarter finals. While the team can look forward to recharging their batteries over the winter break, The Old Lady's plans for preparations ahead of the second half of the season have now been confirmed.
The return to training and a friendly against Aue
The team will return to training on 3rd January and will then contest a friendly against FC Erzgebirge Aue at the Stadion auf dem Wurfplatz/Amateurstadion just three days later (06.01.24, 14:00 CET).
Friendlies against two European first-division sides
On the following day, Pál Dárdai’s side will travel to a training camp near Alicante, Spain, where they’ll stay until 14th January and play friendlies against both KV Mechelen (10.01.24, 15:00 CET) and Rangers (13.01.24, 16:00 CET).
Competitive football then gets back underway for Hertha on 21st January, when the blue and whites host Fortuna Düsseldorf at the Olympiastadion (21.01.23, 13:30 CET).
